Reading Scriptures

As a family we read scriptures every night and I try to have Kaylene read some part of the scriptures. We where reading about King Benjamin. I was having Kaylene say what I was saying I side King she said king I said Benjamin she said Cody.  Cody is one of her favorite cousins and Benjamin is his brother and she asks about Cody often.

The Alligator game

Kaylene is starting to be at a fun age. Some of the kids that she plays with play a game where one kid is the alligator and has the kids take so many steps after the kids ask what time it is, then when they get right in front of the child (alligator) the children ask one more time and the alligator said eat time they all go running and screaming and then it is a game of chase and tag.  Kaylene one morning was playing outside by herself she would be the alligator and the kids that would take the steps as she would come close to me she would then turn and run away screaming like the older kids would. She did this many time.

Yesterday morning Michael was sitting down at breakfast with Kaylene she was having a hard time keeping on task of eating breakfast before church, so Michael was helping her by feeding her every now and then she said this

Kaylene: mine, mine, mine, mine
Michael: ok
Michael: take one more bit then
Kaylene: Ok daddy it’s you’re all done

Michael came into the kids room told me about it and I could not stop laughing

If heaven wasn't so farway

In 2008 all in about 8 months my Great Grandma Long, Aunt Karen, and Aunt Ana all past away, the one that was the hardest for me and most of my family was Aunt Karen.  Great Grandma Long was born in 1920 and was 88 when she died. She lived a great life doing all kind of things and living life to its fullest we have great stories about her some you would not even believe was about a proper lady.  My Aunt Ana was a little younger and had lots of health problems she still lived a great life.  The one that I have been thinking a lot about lately is Aunt Karen she died in a car accident, Karen was a character, sometime good and sometimes bad everyone in the family has this kind of stories about her, most of the stories I think now would make us laugh.  I am not sure why I started thinking about her as I drove one Saturday but I was and as I was thinking about here the song by Justin Moore If Heaven wasn’t so for away came on the radio. I then started thinking of the song it helped me close that thought process what a great song.  I still will think of her often my new calling in Bear Den Leader she loved Scouting
